You are responsible in identifying new business opportunities and products which are relevant to the market trends and will support the growth of the business. This role involves in analysing the market trends, identifying new products suiting to the market trends, do research on product- market positioning analysis and provide a support on strategic planning and positioning of the products in the appropriate markets. Market Research and Product Research would be the foundation for your role.
Altogether, you will set priorities and follow through on commitments, work effectively with diverse groups of people and departments, demonstrate creativity, innovation, initiative and be an excellent communicator (verbal and written).
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager will be reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer.
•Build long lasting relationships with key industry decision makers, including related local authorities that lead to new opportunities.
•Identify the new business development opportunities and potential partnership with Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for business expansion in company’s vision.
•Maintaining, growing and supporting relationships with international distributors.
•Developing long-term relationships with existing and potential customers
•Provide reports to the mid and senior level management on busine trends with a view to develop new services and products and to provide insights on market trends and positioning of the new products and services. The reports also help in identifying opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
•Manage and participate in international and national exhibitions to represent and enhance company’s business., and provide feedback and information on market trends, creative trends and outcome of participating exhibitions
•Providing in-house and on-site product training sessions for Medical & Sales Teams.
•Facilitate negotiation and finalization of contracts for business collaboration, with the team to identify the opportunities and motivate them to have introductory cold call and online meeting.
•Facilitate regulatory affairs for new product registration along with post registration variations.
•Analyse the product portfolio and induce the range that is ready to launch in the local markets based on the market potential, market trends, regional priorities and profitability.
•Coordinate with marketing team (internal and external) to support promotional strategies, and assist in planning approaches and pitches and induction of new products.
•Contributing ideas for new product development and helping to evaluate new propositions.
•Strong coordination with marketing, regulatory affairs, corporate & legal, finance, supply chain department for completion of projects.
•Maintain knowledge of latest clinical data for all the products and provide it to the marketing department to launch new marketing tools for the field people.
•Hands-on design and implement the pre-launch and launch activities.
Qualifications :
•Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent Medical Degree
•A Degree in Business Management or Finance shall be considered an advantage
•8 years of experience with not less than 4 years in the UAE pharma business development sector in a management capacity, is required.
•A track record of introducing and launching new pharmaceutical products is essential.
•Have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships
•Have excellent project planning skills and be competent in financial modelling to support business planning.
•Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific research studies and transform scientific information into meaningful insights.
•Ability to explore innovative opportunities by understanding market requirements and local competition to assist in the development of strategies.
•Strong analytical skills to gather information and insights from many sources, interpret and understand your business in order to drive strategic planning.
•Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills and Fluent in English verb.
•Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Power Point)
•A valid UAE driving license.
