As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Physical Commodity Trader, as a Trade Offic to join our team. Preferrable if experienced in bulk trading of Chemicals or Minerals.
Responsibilities:
1. Market Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of market trends, supply and demand factors, geopolitical events, and other relevant factors that may impact the price and availability of commodities.
2. Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and source physical commodities from suppliers or producers.
- Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable and cost-effective agreements.
3. Sales and Marketing:
- Identify potential buyers for the commodities and develop relationships with clients.
- Market and promote the commodities to potential customers, highlighting the quality and unique selling points.
4. Risk Management:
- Manage and assess risks associated with commodity trading, including price fluctuations, currency exchange rates, and logistical challenges.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the company from potential financial losses.
5. Logistics and Transportation:
- Coordinate the transportation and logistics of physical commodities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Work with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to facilitate smooth transportation.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about and comply with relevant regulations and legal requirements related to commodity trading.
- Ensure that all trading activities adhere to local and international laws.
7. Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders in the commodity trading ecosystem.
- Collaborate with colleagues, brokers, and other industry professionals to gather market intelligence and insights.
8. Financial Analysis:
- Monitor financial aspects of commodity trades, including profit margins, cost structures, and overall financial performance.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize trading outcomes.
9. Doentation:
- Prepare and manage all necessary doentation related to commodity trades, including contracts, invoices, shipping doents, and quality certifications.
10. Adaptability:
- Stay adaptable and responsive to changing market conditions and unforeseen events that may impact the commodity trading landscape.
